Beth Rodgers - Owner

I am passionate about early learning and childcare and am a fully qualified primary school teacher, registered with the General Teaching Council of Scotland.  For for the last 3 years of my main stream teaching career, I was Head Teacher of a small inner city school and this allowed me to gain a wealth of knowledge and expertise into the successful management of an education setting.  

Following my graduation in 2006, my first permanent teaching post was as a Nursery Teacher, which I enjoyed very much.  Since this very first teaching role, the early years have been a passion of mine, and I have undertaken many training and professional development opportunities to increase my expertise further. 

In 2010 I became a Principal Teacher for Pre School, where my role was to support 8 pre-school centres, both within the local authority and privately run.  I provided curriculum support and teacher guidance, along with supporting the self-evaluation of each nursey. This post allowed me to see a variety of settings and approaches to care and learning within Highland.  

My next role in 2012, as Early Years Education Officer, gave me a national view.  In this role, I worked within the local authority and nationally to quality assure care and learning settings, ensuing they were running in line with the national care standards and the early level curriculum.  
What has been fundamental to all of these roles has been my passion for early learning through play, my love of working with young children, and the nurturing approach I have taken into all of my professional roles.  In the Education Scotland report of the school I lead,  it was noted that ‘the head teacher is well respected by staff, parents and children as a very hard working, strong leader and one who places wellbeing and nurture at the heart of her work.’

I had wanted to open my own early learning and childcare setting for many years, and with young children of my own,  finally taken the step to do this with the opening of Cairngorm Early Learning & Childcare in 2019. I am passionate about the service we offer the local community and the early learning and childcare experiences on offer for our families.
